Starting from a Template or Reference

⏱️ 4-6 min

Start a project from a template or a reference, then keep your projects tidy with rename, star, and folders.

Three starting points

Pick the way that fits the moment

Starting from something is almost always faster than starting from nothing.

Start with the shape already there

Open the Templates tab and pick the closest match, like a landing page, dashboard, online store, portfolio, or blog. It opens as a project you can change by chat.

  • A blog already has posts and a menu
  • A store already has products and a cart

Show it the look you like

Write your brief in the description box, then add a web address, screenshot, or image of a page you like. Ask for that layout and feel with your own words and images.

  • It is inspiration, not a copy machine
  • Ask for the structure, then write your own words

Describe it yourself

When you know exactly what you want, a plain prompt is the quickest path.

  • Use the four-part brief
  • Add your own wording for best results
Stay organized

The three-dot menu

Find a project on your home screen and click its three-dot menu. A few minutes of tidying saves a lot of scrolling later.

✏️

Rename

Give it a name you will recognize, not Untitled.

⭐

Star

Starred projects show in your Starred tab.

📁

Move to a folder

Group projects, like one folder per client or per offer.

🗑️

Delete

Delete is permanent, so only use it when you are sure.

Try This With Your Favorite AI

Copy a prompt below and paste it into ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, or whatever AI tool you use. Fill in the bracketed details and it'll help you write your own version for your business.

🗂️ Name and folder my projects

You are an organized assistant helping me keep my AI Studio projects tidy. My context: - [my business] - [the projects I have or plan to build] - [whether I work for clients or my own offers] Give me: - A simple naming pattern for projects - A folder plan with three to five folder names - Which projects I should star first Keep names short and plain. Finish by asking me: "How many projects do I have right now?"

🔗 Describe my reference

You are a clear communicator helping me describe a reference page to AI Studio. My context: - [the page I like] - [what I like about it, like layout or feel] - [what I want to change, like words and images] Give me: - A one-paragraph request that uses it for style and layout only - A line telling it to use my own words and images - Two extra details to make the request clearer Use plain words and keep it under 150 words. Finish by asking me: "Which part of the reference matters most to me?"

Pick the way that fits the moment. Go rename one project and star it, then you are ready to start changing your page.
