Creating a Conversation AI Bot (Guided Setup)

⏱️ 5-7 min

Build a working text bot with the guided form, save it, and pick a safe status before it talks to anyone.

Step by step

From blank screen to saved bot

The guided form asks a few questions and builds the bot for you. No code needed.

1

Start the form

In Conversation AI, click + Create Bot and pick Guided Form Setup. It is the easiest option for simple needs.

2

Pick a bot type

Click Create New Bot, then choose General Q&A or Appointment Booking. Not sure? Start with General Q&A and add booking later.

3

Choose a Brand Voice

Pick a saved voice from the dropdown or create a new one. Click Edit to adjust it, then continue.

4

Fill in Bot Settings

Name the bot, pick its channels, write a short warm first message, and add your business info. Look for the primary bot toggle and the wait time before replying.

5

Set Bot Goals and save

Choose a couple of contact details to collect. If you picked Appointment Booking, you can turn on booking and pick a calendar here. Click Save.

6

Pick a status

A new bot is not talking to anyone yet. Choose its status on your screen before you test it.

The three statuses

Status decides how much freedom your bot has.

The bot does nothing

Nothing is sent and nothing is drafted. Use it while you are still building.

A person reviews first

The bot writes a reply, but your team reviews it before it goes out.

  • Best choice for a new bot
  • A safety net while the bot earns your trust

The bot sends on its own

Replies go out without review. Move here after the drafts look right.

⚡ Tips

  • Use plain bot names so you can tell bots apart once you have three or four.
  • If you have no Brand Voice yet, create one from the dropdown.
  • Short wait times feel more human, because instant replies can feel robotic.
  • Field names can differ a little, so read what is on your screen.

🏷️ Name and greet my bot

You are a friendly copywriter helping me name my first text bot and write its first message. My context: - [my business] - [who texts me and what they ask] - [how my business sounds: warm, direct, playful] Give me: - Five plain bot names - A first message under 25 words - A one-line version that fits a small text bubble Use simple words and no jargon. Finish by asking me: "Which name sounds most like my business?"

🧰 Write my business info

You are a organized onboarding writer helping me gather the business info my bot needs on day one. My context: - [my hours] - [my service area] - [what I offer] Give me: - A short business info block, under 120 words - Three things I may be forgetting to include - A tidy order to enter it in the form Keep it short. I can add more later. Finish by asking me: "What do customers ask that I did not list?"

You just built a real bot with no code. Keep it on Suggestive, watch it work, and meet me in the next one to teach it.
