Adding Text, Image and Button Elements

⏱️ 5-7 min

Drag in a headline, paragraph, image, and button, and set your button to do something when clicked.

4 basics

The four elements most pages need

Click Add Elements, the plus icon on the left, and drag these into a column.

The line people read first

Drag a Headline into a column and click it to type. Use one main headline per page, then smaller headings below it.

  • A heading is a label that tells search engines what the page is about
  • Make a line stand out with a heading, not just bigger text

Words with a rich text toolbar

The Paragraph element gives you the rich text editor. Select some words and a toolbar pops up.

  • Bold, headings, bulleted lists, and numbered lists
  • Superscript and subscript, like the 2 in H2O
  • Keep it to two or three sentences, then a break

A picture with a description

Drag in an Image, click it, and use the right sidebar to upload or pick from your media library. Then fill in the alt text.

  • Alt text is a short description for visitors who cannot see the image
  • Image Action lets a click open a link, a popup, or scroll the page
  • Shrink huge files before you upload so the page stays fast

The one thing you want clicked

Drag in a Button. On the General tab, change the button text and add sub-text if you want a small line underneath.

  • Make it the most noticeable item on screen
  • Set its colors right on the same element
Make it work

⚡ Tips

  • A button without an action is just a colored rectangle, so always set one.
  • Pick Next Step inside a funnel so visitors keep moving forward.
  • The list of button actions can differ between funnels and websites, so check what you see.
  • Test every action in Preview before you publish.

✍️ Write my headline and button

You are a clear page copywriter helping me write the words for the first section of my page. My context: - [what the page offers] - [who the visitor is] - [what I want them to click] Give me: - Five headline options under ten words - A two-sentence paragraph with a bulleted list of three points - Three button text ideas under five words Use plain words and no hype. Finish by asking me: "Which headline sounds most like how you talk?"

🖼️ Write alt text and file names

You are an image helper helping me describe my page images for alt text. My context: - [a list of the images on my page] - [what each image is meant to show] - [how many images I plan to upload] Give me: - A plain alt text line for each image - A short, clear file name for each image - A reminder of what to check about file size before I upload Keep each alt text under twelve words. Finish by asking me: "Do any images need a second look for what they show?"
